The San Fernando Valley Swimming Competition, organized by Special Olympics Southern California, was held at the San Fernando Regional Pool on May 13. Two teams from the Valley communities of Calabasas and Porter Ranch faced off against teams from Santa Barbara, Santa Clarita, Torrance, and Ventura. More than 60 swimmers competed in three individual events and relay, with the gold, silver and bronze medal winners qualifying for the upcoming Summer Games at CSU Long Beach June 13 and 14. More than 130 medals were awarded.
