RESEDA (CNS) – Police are hunting for the shooter who killed one person and wounded another at a Metro Orange Line bus stop in Reseda Friday, Aug. 4.
Officers responding to a call of a shooting at Reseda Boulevard and Oxnard Street at about 7:30 p.m. Friday found two victims in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Paramedics rushed both victims to a hospital, where Brandyn Rodrigo Mendez, 28, of Van Nuys died from his wounds. The other victim was listed in stable condition.
“The two victims had arrived at the Orange Line bus station and were involved in a confrontation with the suspect,” police said. “During the confrontation, the suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple times at the victims. The suspect then fled the scene.”

It was the second violent death at or near a Metro station in three days. On Tuesday, a man who allegedly stabbed another man to death on a Crenshaw Station Line in Hawthorne during a fight was shot by the victim and later taken into custody by Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department deputies.
