El Centro de Amistad has partnered with VITA-GMS Tax Prep Services to offer free tax preparation for registered clients of the new FamilySource Center (FSC) in Panorama City.
The tax services – provided by Volunteer Income Tax Assistance-Greater Mt. Sinai (VITA-GMS) – are available on Tuesdays from 9 am to 2 pm, Wednesdays from 3 pm to 8 pm, and two Saturdays a month from 9 am to 2 pm. The free services will be available through April 10.
To qualify, individuals must be enrolled at the Panorama City FSC; be residents within the city limits of Los Angeles, and; fall within specified annual income limits based on household size (for example, the income limit is under $70,650 for one person, and under $80,750 for two).
Luis Cervantes, executive director at El Centro de Amistad, encourages eligible community members to take advantage of the free service, to help alleviate the cost and the burden typically associated with tax preparation.
“We are excited to launch this collaborative effort with VITA-GMS Free Tax Prep Services to bring essential tax-preparation services to the Panorama City community through our new FamilySource Center program,” said Cervantes. “This initiative aligns with our commitment to supporting individuals and families in achieving financial well-being.”
