Theresa Wolfe, née Zamora, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022, at Oakmont of Redding in Redding, CA after a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Theresa was born to Frank and Mary Louise (Bustamante) Zamora on November 15, 1934, in Santa Paula, CA. After growing up in San Fernando, CA, she settled in Sylmar, CA to raise her family and work as a dental and medical secretary in San Fernando for nearly 50 years. She was revered by the patients for her ever smiling face, warm demeanor, and kindness.
Theresa’s primary passions in life were to golf, travel, and snow ski. She spent years globetrotting with her longtime companion, Dr. James Laage and rarely passed up the opportunity to play a round of golf. In retirement, she moved to Redding, CA and fulfilled her dream of building a home on a golf course where she enjoyed watching the golfers go by even after she could no longer play.
Theresa is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Wolfe Mumford (Tom) of Napa, CA, Renée Wolfe Uhalde (Robin) of Cottonwood, CA, Yvonne Wolfe of Granada Hills, CA, grandson, John Mumford, step granddaughters Courtney Uhalde (Pete), Kelsey Uhalde Alexander (James), Sara Uhalde Garaventa (Roman), step grandson Michael Uhalde, and step great grandchildren, Cade, and Conley Uhalde, and Gavin, Caleb, and Tanner Alexander. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Louise Mendez, and Alice Gorman (Merle) and her sister-in-law, Dale Ann Zamora along with many loving nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Zamora, Jr., step grandson Peter Uhalde and her companion, James Laage.
A Funeral Mass will be held on March 31, 2022, at St. Didacus Catholic Church 14325 Astoria Street, Sylmar, CA 91342 at 10:30am. A reception will follow at noon at Knollwood Country Club, 12040 Balboa Blvd., Granada Hills, CA 91344.
