David R. Gonzalez, 72, passed away on March 18, 2022 due to complications from surgery. David was born on December 29, 1949 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Tito Gonzalez and Esperanza Gonzalez. David was the eldest of 5 children.

David was brought to the United States at the age of 10 and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. In 1967, David met Guadalupe Acuna and married in 1971. David worked at the General Motors Van Nuys Assembly Plant from 1969 until his retirement on September 30, 1999. He also did upholstery work as a side job at the Gonzalez family home in Pacoima, CA for many years.

David was a kind person who never had a second thought about helping someone in need. He was a soccer player for various years and an avid lifelong fan. He looked forward to his grandkid’s games and birthdays.

In his retirement years, he loved to watch TV westerns from his old living room chair and looked forward to his daily visits with his mother Esperanza.

He also loved the great forests of California and looked forward to his yearly summer family vacations.

David is survived by his wife Guadalupe; and his children Francisco, Irma, and Angelica; in-laws; as well as 9 grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday April 11, 2022 from 5pm to 8 pm at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall, California.

A Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2022 at 10am at Santa Rosa Church in San Fernando, followed by burial at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills, CA.
