Glendale, CA – This afternoon, a Glendale Police Officer was hailed down by the victim of an act of hateful vandalism.
The victim told officers the incident occurred in the 600 block of East Lomita Avenue in Glendale. He stated he parked his car there last night at approximately 9:00 p.m. When he returned this morning, he found his car had been “keyed.” Scratches were on the passenger side, the rear panel, the roof, and the hood.
“IT’S OK TO BE QUEER,” “PRIDE,” “STOP HATING,” and “LGBTQ” were among the phrases etched into the paint in various parts of the car. Additionally, a derogatory word used to attack those of Armenian descent was carved into the vehicle’s hood.
Detectives from the Glendale Police Department Robbery/Homicide Unit immediately have begun an investigation. The vandalized car is currently in police custody undergoing Forensics testing.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
