STUDIO CITY (CNS) – A man was taken into custody today after leading police on a brief car chase in Studio City and then barricading himself in the vehicle for several hours.
The man was arrested shortly before 6 a.m. near Ventura Boulevard and Colfax Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. His name was not immediately released.
According to police, officers went to the 3600 block of Sunswept Drive early Tuesday morning on a report of a “possible prowler,” and found the man in the vehicle.
The suspect crashed the vehicle into a police car and sped off, and a short time later police forced the vehicle to stop and a standoff ensued, according to police and reports from the scene. The man was arrested by a SWAT team.
