LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A man was killed this morning in a multiple-vehicle crash on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Pacoima.

The crash occurred at 2:48 a.m. on the eastbound Ronald Reagan Freeway at the Golden State (5) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Kravig said.

A news videographer at the scene said a pickup truck and sports car collided and that the man was trapped inside the sports car. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free the man before he was pronounced dead.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 3:27 a.m. shutting down all eastbound lanes of the Ronald Reagan Freeway at the Golden State Freeway and diverting traffic off onto the Golden State Freeway.
