It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor “Wera” Ruiz, beloved mother, Nana/grandmother and great grandmother, who passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, at the age of 84. Wera, a Sylmar, CA, resident, was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert “Bobby” Ruiz, in 2022. Wera was born in Los Angeles, CA, on January 20, 1941 and grew up in the city of San Fernando, CA. She attended San Fernando High School, where she graduated in 1959. She married the love of her life Robert “Bobby” Ruiz in 1962. Together they had 7 children (5 boys and 2 girls) raising them at their home in Sylmar, CA, where they created many beautiful memories together. Wera played an active role in her children’s schools and sporting activities, and was very involved in the Santa Rosa school and church communities for many years. Wera and Bobby were proud members of the “50’s Club” from San Fernando, CA, enjoying the many dances and trips they attended with their club friends. Wera enjoyed cooking, hosting large family gatherings, camping and traveling with her true love Bobby and all of her children and their extended families.
Wera’s children blessed her with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wera was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and is survived by her 7 children Robert, Richard, Steven, Michael, Philip, Rosanne, Tanya and their families including numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew her as “Nana”.
