Thousands gather in downtown Los Angeles for May Day, an international celebration of laborers and the working class.

The “One Struggle, One Fight – Workers Unite” march and rally on May 1 came after a three-day unfair labor practices strike led by SEIU 721. The strike was prompted by Mayor Karen Bass’ announcement that much of the LA County workforce would be laid off due to budget cuts.
