As Mental Health Awareness Month, observed in May, came to a close, Los Angeles County held one of the last events of its annual Take Action for Mental Health LA campaign in Arleta to promote mental wellness in the community. Held in Branford Park on May 30, the Community Wellbeing Day was hosted by LA City Councilmember Imelda Padilla to connect local families with services and activities, including meditation. Guest speakers were also present to give their insight on mental health awareness and discuss ways to reduce the stigma that prevents many people from seeking help. The Take Action campaign featured more than 130 events, but the one held on Saturday was one of the few that took place within the San Fernando Valley.
