Last night, Saturday May 25, at 11:20 PM, San Fernando Police arrested Martin Rodriguez, 61, of San Fernando.
Rodriguez who police said initially barricaded himself in his home located in the 900 block of Orange Grove Ave., after shooting multiple victims was apprehended at a nearby residence.
Rodriguez was booked on seven charges of attempted murder, one charge of criminal threat, one charge of shooting at an inhabited dwelling and one charge of shooting at an aircraft.
“When officers arrived on scene, they discovered four gunshot victims at the residence. A fifth victim was later located at the hospital and determined he had driven himself to the hospital,” SFPD Chief Fabian Valdez reported.
The condition of the victims has not been reported.
“During the standoff, the suspect is believed to have shot at the Los Angeles Police Department helicopter providing aerial support to officers on the ground,” said Chief Valdez. “The investigation into this incident is ongoing.”
SFPD Officers were assisted by Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Los Angeles County Sheriffs.
Rodriguez’ bail has been set at $9.8 million dollars.
