To help Angelenos celebrate the holidays safely and sustainably, LA Metro will offer free rides across its system on Dec. 31. Metro also will provide 24-hour rail service on New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day on the A, B, D and E Lines, while the C and K Lines will operate until 2 a.m.
This annual tradition helps riders enjoy festivities without the worry of traffic, parking or driving under the influence, making Metro the safest, stress-free way to travel this holiday season.
No fare will be collected on bus or rail between Wednesday, Dec. 31, starting at 4 a.m. through Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, at 3 a.m. During these times, fare gates at all Metro Rail stations will be unlatched, and fare boxes and validators will not deduct fares from TAP cards or fare media.
On New Year’s Day, Metro will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule. Regular overnight OWL bus services will continue to run throughout the county.
