La semana pasada, miembros de la comunidad, organizaciones asociadas y líderes cívicos de todo Los Ángeles se unieron a representantes de LA Family Housing (LAFH) y LAFHBuilds para una ceremonia de corte de cinta que celebró la gran apertura de “The Cielo” en Chatsworth. El proyecto de vivienda utilizó construcción modular prefabricada para crear 99 viviendas permanentes de apoyo para personas sin hogar. Fue construido como parte del Premio al Desafío de Innovación de la Medida HHH de la Ciudad de Los Ángeles.

“Por primera vez en ocho años, me siento preparado para lo que viene”, dijo Kyle Phipps, residente de The Cielo que ha experimentado la falta de vivienda crónica. “Después de ocho años sin un hogar, mi esposa y yo finalmente tenemos uno. Hoy estoy trabajando. Me estoy preparando para financiar un coche. Me mantengo limpio y sobrio. Mi mayor objetivo es recuperar la confianza de mis hijos y ser el padre que merecen. Ellos me visitan aquí. Están orgullosos de mí y eso lo significa todo.”
