FIFA World Cup 2026 Draw Reception (Wikicommons)

The FIFA World Cup has begun! And free community watch parties are continuing throughout the San Fernando Valley.

The City of San Fernando will hold its next watch party on June 24, which will take place at the San Fernando outside mall starting at 6 p.m. for the game between Mexico and Czechia.

Kick It In the Park

The city of Los Angeles is not only providing outdoor watch parties on a big screen, but is holding youth soccer clinics, family-friendly activities and setting up community resource booths.

Participating parks include: Sheldon Arleta Park in Sun Valley, Whitsett Fields in North Hollywood, Lanark Recreation Center in Canoga Park, Sylmar Recreation Center and Northridge Recreation Center.

At Sheldon Arleta Park, two watch parties have already been held, but five more are still scheduled there. The next one is on June 21 at 9 a.m., when Spain goes up against Saudi Arabia. The other four will be held on June 26, July 1, July 6 and July 14 for the semifinals.

El Cariso Park

The LA County Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting similar watch parties with soccer clinics. On June 26 at 4 p.m., El Cariso Community Regional Park in Sylmar, the community can come together to watch the match between Uruguay and Spain.

Elected officials will also be hosting their own watch parties. LA City Councilmember Adrian Nazarian, alongside LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, will have an all-day watch party in the NoHo District at 11136 Magnolia Blvd. on June 27, starting at noon.

Councilmember Bob Blumenfield and the Valley Cultural Foundation are having watch parties at two locations. One is at Lanark Recreation Center on June 20, June 25, June 30, July 5, July 11 and July 19.

The other will be at Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills, and the watch party will be on June 25 as the United States takes on Turkey at 7 p.m. If you arrive at 5 p.m., you can participate in a special giveaway.
