Last week, 27 people experiencing homelessness were brought indoors and six RVs were removed near the corner of Louvre Street and Ralston Avenue in Pacoima with the support of Inside Safe, a program run by the office of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

Inside Safe completed its 144th operation in Pacoima on Oct. 1. Team members helped 27 Angelenos and their pets move into interim housing from an encampment consisting primarily of RVs and makeshift structures, and one individual with a disability received medical treatment.
“For many people living in RVs and makeshift shelters, the fear of leaving their pets behind can be a barrier to coming inside,” said Bass. “In Pacoima, we made sure people could bring their pets with them. Twenty-seven Angelenos are now inside and connected to the care they need.”
“Ensuring people don’t have to leave their pets behind is essential to getting them off the streets,” said LA City Councilmember Monica Rodriguez, who represents the 7th District. “Today’s operation restored this neighborhood for CD7 families, proving that we can deliver clean, safe streets while providing unhoused Angelenos a real pathway to stability.”
Bass’ office reports that, to date, the Inside Safe program has helped more than 6,200 people get off the streets and connected them with critical services in coordination with multiple city and county agencies.
