Fire Kills Three Dogs and Damages Commercial Building

Three dogs died in a fire after a commercial building caught fire Sunday night in San Fernando, and a firefighter was hospitalized in fair condition after suffering second degree burns to his hands while fighting the flames.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. at 1107 DeGarmo Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Eric Scott. The flames damaged in an auto shop. Thirty-two firefighters responded and doused the flames in 32 minutes, Scott said.

The dogs were found inside the shop.
