SYLMAR (CNS) — A truck hauling a 30-foot trailer carrying three sheep and two cows overturned on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar, seriously injuring the driver.

The crash occurred on Wednesday, April 29, about 11 a.m. at Hubbard Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Paramedics took the injured trucker to a hospital in serious condition, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Animal care workers were sent to help transfer the animals to another vehicle. None of the animals appeared to be seriously hurt.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
