GAME OF THE WEEK

Cleveland and Reseda are playing their annual Battle for the Cup game on Friday, Sept. 11. But there is more than just a trophy and bragging rights at stake.

Both teams are entering their third game of the 2015 season, and now their identities are being formed. Reseda (1-1) look good against Monroe on Aug. 28, and overmatched against Oxnard Pacifica on Sept. 3. The truth is probably somewhere in-between; how the Regents perform on Friday may be a better indication of the direction their season is heading.

The same could be said for the unbeaten Cavaliers (2-0) who recorded wins against San Fernando and Kennedy. But fans may wait to see how Cleveland fares in league play before making up their minds on how good the team could be.

Last year the Cavs ended a four-game losing streak to the Regents with a 41-13 victory.
