Students from Metropolitan Water District’s six-county service area displayed their original artwork to be featured in the district’s annual “Water is Life” student art calendar at the agency’s downtown Los Angeles headquarters. The Wednesday, Nov. 18 event featured students representing schools from throughout Southern California, their parents, teachers and principals, as well as representatives from Metropolitan and sponsoring water agencies. Metropolitan’s 2016 “Water is Life” calendar celebrates the 28th year of production. This year’s contest winners were selected from over 20,000 entries. After being exhibited at MWD, the artwork will be on display at participating member agencies in coming months. Student Ricardo Lima and Director Sylvia Ballin with Lima’s work.
