Pastor Rudy

Those who live in the Northeast San Fernando Valley know Rudy Trujillo simply as “Pastor Rudy.” He is the “go-to” Pastor who is always there in times of trouble.

On Wednesday, March 22, it was Pastor Rudy who was in trouble when a former church member assaulted him on Maclay and De Haven streets. He was punched in the head and kicked as he fell to the ground.

The assault occurred before 11 a.m. Pastor Rudy was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills and may be transferred to Kaiser Hospital in Panorama City.

Pastor Rudy indicated that the man was a former church member who he hadn’t seen in years. San Fernando police are currently investigating the assault and at press time had not yet apprehended the “named suspect.”

Pastor Rudy was reported to have been kicked so hard that he suffered a broken hip and will need surgery.

He recently officiated over the massive candlelight vigil held for Elias “Eli” Rodriguez, the 14-year-old who wound up in the Pacoima Wash and was swept into the L.A. River.
