In celebration of Earth Day, Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez invited Los Angeles residents to plant a new tree in their garden by giving out nearly 100 free trees.
On Saturday, April 20, the community started lining up at 9 a.m. to ensure getting one of the first-come first-serve three-to-six feet tall trees. With every tree that was adopted constituents received a 25lb bag of mulch to help with planting.
El Nido family centers, LADOT, CityPlants, Pacoima Beautiful, Team MRod, GRID Alternatives and Metro provided additional resources and information about sustainable practices. (Photos courtesy of Rodriguez’s office)
