ENCINO (CNS) – A suspect in a weekend shooting in Encino that left a man dead and another wounded is jailed in lieu of $4 million bail, authorities announced on Wednesday, May 16.

Cesar Lozano, 23, was arrested on Tuesday and booked on suspicion of murder, said Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Guillermo Hernandez, 28, of Sylmar died at the scene of the shooting that occurred about 4:20 a.m. Sunday in the 17800 block of Miranda Street.

The survivor, in his late 50s, was hospitalized. His name was not released, and the extent of his injuries was unclear.

The victims had been arguing with the gunman, possibly at a house party, according to police and reports from the scene.
