SYLMAR (CNS) — Authorities have identified a young man who was found shot to death at a park in Sylmar.

The body was discovered about 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, at the park at Borden Avenue and Polk Street, said Sgt. J. Bender of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Mission Station.

The man was identified as Sergio Tabares, 21, whose home town was not known, the coroner’s office reported.

“A couple of people knocked on the door at the fire station and said there was a man on the ground who appeared to have been shot,” Bender said.
