It was possible that there might be two undefeated league teams in the West Valley coming down to the final week of the regular season. And that one of them would be Birmingham Community Charter High.
But not many could have foreseen Granada Hills Charter High as another unbeaten team in league.
The two teams will settle the West Valley title chase head-to-head on Friday, Nov. 1, at Birmingham High School.
The Highlanders (5-3, 3-0) have won five straight after pounding Chatsworth High, 45-8. The Patriots (4-4, 3-0) have won their last three, including a 62-0 shellacking of Taft High. Both games were played on Monday, Oct. 28, due to postponements caused by the Southland brushfires and bad air quality.
