The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) continues to provide free meals for students and families in need at its “grab and go” food centers, and officials say the service will continue indefinitely.

More than eight million meals have been served, according to district officials.

The program, which began March 18 after district schools were closed due to the pandemic outbreak of coronavirus, provides two meals weekdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The food centers do not accept walk-ons; those receiving the meals must drive up in their vehicles, get out of the vehicle to collect the food, then drive off.
