Richard A. Reyes 

October 2nd, 1928 to May 1st, 2020

Richard left this world on May 1st surrounded by family in his Pacoima home. He is proceeded by his wife Irene (Verdugo) Reyes. Richard is missed by his loving children Richard Jr., Andrew, Geraldine, and son-in-law Victor,10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  

Richard was a patriot and civil servant having served in the Marines, Army, and Air Force reserves. He worked for the LADWP, San Fernando PD, served as Commissioner for San Fernando Park and Recreations, float designer for the Valley Latin Knights (member), and a founding board member of Pukúu Cultural Community Services. Richard who was of Pawnee descent, was active with his wife’s tribal community the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians. 

He enjoyed retirement with his love for the arts, making traditional Native American crafts, spending time with his family, and watching his Kansas City Chiefs football team. 

He will be interred on Monday, May 11th at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
