Conchita D. Nunez, 84, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020. She will be joining her husband, Pablo Nuñez, and her parents, Joe and Vivian Delgado, in divine transition. Conchita is survived by her three children, Paul, Sam, and Georgia (Reyes), her son-in-law, Manuel, and her three grandchildren, Manuel, Rachel, and Angelica.
Born in Pacoima, Conchita enjoyed her long life in the sunny San Fernando Valley. As a child and teen, she enjoyed listening to records and playing softball. Married at 17, Conchita took pride in raising her family, making clothes, cooking dinners, and creating traditions she passed down to her grandchildren. Her love of documenting her family and their lives is reflected in the boxes of photos and meticulous notes she took to remember important days in their life, including graduations and marriages.
Conchita could often be found behind a sewing machine, making quilts during the winter months, crafting dresses from her own patterns, and mending any tear or loose button brought to her. Her love of designing was matched only by her love of cooking, and was known for her signature eggnog and buñuelos during the holidays.
Conchita’s hearty laugh, feisty essence, and wit will be missed by her loving and extensive circle of family and friends.
Her spirit will be celebrated by everyone who knew her.
