LOS ANGELES (CNS) — After a noticeable drop in people getting COVID-19 vaccinations, the City of Los Angeles is launching an all-out effort to promote getting the shot.
The city is deploying 10 Mobile Outreach for Vaccine Equity teams, available Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locations include the North Hollywood Senior Center at 5301 Tujunga Avenue in North Hollywood; the Andres and Maria Cardenas Recreation Center at 14740 Blythe Street in Panorama City; and the Sylmar Recreation Center at 13109 Borden Avenue in Sylmar.
These sites are offering Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
There are also Walk-up Site locations operating Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pierce College, 20498 Victory Boulevard in Woodland Hills, offers both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. San Fernando Park, at 208 Park Avenue in San Fernando, only offers the Moderna vaccine.
None of those sites require an appointment.
Hansen Dam, at 11798 Foothill Boulevard in Lake View Terrace is a drive-through site offering the Moderna vaccine, but appointments are required.
“Our city and country stand at a critical turning point in our fight to defeat COVID-19 — and just as we have in every phase of this crisis, we are meeting the moment with urgent action by rolling up our sleeves and getting shots into the arms of every Angeleno,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said.
“Los Angeles has enough doses to keep our momentum going, to protect our communities against new variants, and end this pandemic. So we all need to do our part to encourage our families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”
Los Angeles’ city-run sites are offering more than 250,000 doses of the vaccine this week, which is the most the city has offered during the pandemic. That total includes 70,000 new Moderna vaccine doses, 45,000 new Pfizer vaccine doses and 3,000 new Johnson & Johnson doses that will be added to leftover supply.
