— San Fernando Police are searching for a suspect following an early morning car chase and an officer-involved shooting.
According to Police Chief Tony Vairo, a car chase began on Maclay Avenue at approximately 3:45 a.m., and the chase continued on the 210 Freeway where the vehicle exited on Osborn, traveling into the Angeles Forest near Tujunga. Vairo said the SFPD pursued the vehicle but initially lost sight of the car. It was spotted again by police on their way back to the station. Vairo said a male got out of the car and fired shots. The SFPD returned fire and the suspect fled on foot. Vairo and there was no indication the suspect was injured. No officers were injured. A search is still underway, with LA County Sheriff’s Department SWAT and K-9 units joining the police.
