Los Angeles, Calif. ―Dignity Health – Northridge Hospital Medical Center (NHMC) is proud to announce it has received a legacy gift in the amount of $1,937,556 from The Schroer Trust to help support patient care needs.
Since 1955, NHMC has received the support of community members who have contributed significantly to the hospital, equipment, service lines, and key programs of the hospital. The Northridge Hospital Foundation Legacy Society recognizes and honors individuals who name NHMC in their wills or trusts or as a beneficiary of deferred gifts.
“It is a pleasure to be able to give to Northridge Hospital,” says Ernie Schroer III, son of Ernest and Pat. “I appreciate everyone’s efforts to help others.”
The Schroer Trust was established by Ernest and Pat Schroer as a Charitable Remainder UniTrust and managed under the NHMC Foundation. Upon Pat’s passing earlier this year, the remainder of the trust was distributed to Northridge Hospital Foundation.
“The incredible generosity of the Schroer family is a true testament to the essential role that members of our local community play in helping Northridge Hospital continue to serve patients and their families with high-quality, compassionate care,” says Brian Hammel, NHMC Foundation President. “This transformational gift will provide us a future filled with hope and promise, and has the capacity to positively affect our patients and communities for years to come.”
