SYLMAR (CNS) – Authorities today were investigating a kidnapping and reported shooting in the Sylmar area.
The crime occurred about 7 a.m. Wednesday near Encinitas Avenue and Roxford Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to the LAPD, a man who had been kidnapped from that location was found a short time later on Little Tujunga Canyon Road, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
According to multiple media reports, the injured man had suffered gunshot wounds. Police, however, released few details of the investigation.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that paramedics were sent to the 14200 block of Little Tujunga Canyon Road at about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday on a reported vehicle collision with a person injured.
A witness to the kidnapping told Fox 11 that the crime occurred near a Mobil gas station.
“It was really quick, but the guy didn’t put up a fight” the man, only identified as Craig, told Fox 11. “Three or four guys (got) out of the SUV, walked up to the guy, grabbed him, walked him over, got into the car. One guy ran in front of my car, (they) almost got hit by another car, an SUV that drove by, and that was it.”
