Los Angeles City Councilmember Imelda Padilla, alongside the Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) and LAPD Mission Division, celebrated the grand re-opening of the North Hills Community Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
This event marked the completion of what they described as significant field repairs funded by a $337,200 award from RAP to restore the soccer field.
Padilla’s office said this restoration is also part of over $2 million in city investments that she is ushering into North Hills East, historically one of Los Angeles’ most underserved neighborhoods.
Padilla inaugurated the field repairs by giving the first soccer kick.
“This project is the first of many investments we are making to ensure that North Hills East receives the resources it deserves,” Padilla said.
“We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our community, and this field repair is just one example of our ongoing efforts. Soon, we will unveil the improvements being made to the roundabout and the new affordable housing behind the park, continuing our commitment to revitalizing North Hills East.”
“We are thrilled to celebrate the grand reopening of the North Hills Community Park,” Chinyere Stoneham, RAP assistant general manager said. “This revitalized park in the North Hills community is a testament to our commitment to fostering vibrant, well-maintained parks and facilities for Angelenos to enjoy.”
