A small memorial is set up outside the AutoZone on Maclay Avenue in the City of San Fernando at the location where a man was shot last night, at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.
“You will never be forgotten. Rest in heavenly paradise Gambino,” reads a note on one of the candles.
San Fernando Police Department (SFPD) said earlier today that the victim was on life support but wasn’t expected to survive.
The victim has only been identified as “Ozzy,” his full name has not been released by law enforcement.
“This was done in broad daylight and does not appear to be a random act,” said SFPD Chief Fabian Valdez, who would not confirm when asked if the shooting was gang-related.
The case is now being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as a potential homicide.
Police are talking to witnesses and are asking for the public to come forward if they can also provide information related to this shooting.
