One week after Juan Figueroa of San Fernando was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder in connection with the brutal killing of local mother Karla Terron, investigators are working on making additional arrests in the case, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
Figueroa’s bail was set at $1 million; his arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 22 at the San Fernando Courthouse. Figueroa, 30, was apprehended shortly after 5 a.m. on Aug. 14 at his home on the 1500 block of Knox Street, was booked at the San Fernando Police Station and was later transferred to the Men’s Central Jail in Downtown LA, where he remains in custody.
LASD Lt. Michael Modica said the department expects to arrest and charge additional individuals they believe were involved in Terron’s homicide, but the names of other suspects and additional details were not available by press time.
Terron’s cousin informed the San Fernando Valley Sun/el Sol that LASD detectives are still instructing family members to refrain from speaking about the case with the press due to the active nature of the investigation.
