The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office autopsy revealed that Oscar Hernandez’s death was a “homicide” from “acute ethanol intoxication,” or alcohol poisoning.
The 13-year-old from Sun Valley was tragically found dead in Ventura County last April, after he failed to return home from a trip to meet with his soccer coach, Mario Edgardo Garcia Aquino, in Lancaster.
Aquino is being charged with murder, which includes a special circumstance allegation that would make the 43-year-old accused killer eligible for a potential death sentence or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
