Nichole Chase, president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the San Fernando Valley, is in Chicago after receiving a special invitation to visit the Obama Presidential Center.
Chase walked through a full-size replica of Obama’s presidential office and sat behind the former president’s desk. Chase, like her father – the late Leroy Chase, who started the Pacoima-based Boys and Girls Club – has a deep commitment to equal opportunity in disadvantaged communities and civil rights. Chase is aligned with many of the social programs that were introduced during the Obama presidency.
The Obama Presidential Center is already considered a major historic landmark, celebrating the election and accomplishments of our nation’s first Black president, First Lady Michelle Obama and their family.
