El Cariso Community Regional Park in Sylmar is hosting three free performances – including an evening of country music this Friday, July 24 – as part of the new “Sounds of LA County” summer concert series.
Scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., “Boots on the Ground: A Night of Country Music” will present folk-rock, upbeat bluegrass and Mississippi Delta blues-country. There will also be two-step country-western dance lessons. The scheduled artists will include Pio Gabriel, Adrian Garzon, Breakin’ Boots with D.J. Short Shorts, and Maurice Smith and The Magnolia Outlaws.
Artist details for upcoming Friday concerts on Aug. 7 and Aug. 21 at El Cariso Park – which will also be held at 6 p.m. – will be announced at a later date. Produced by NextFest LA, the “Sounds of LA County” summer concerts will feature a combined total of 108 performances across 27 Los Angeles County parks through the end of August.
El Cariso is the only park in the San Fernando Valley included in the outdoor music series, which is presented by the County of LA’s Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks). The concerts spotlight artists representing multiple genres from LA County’s eclectic music scene.
