Kanika Kith was appointed San Fernando’s city manager nearly a year ago, on Oct. 20, 2025, after serving as the city’s interim city manager. According to a Rosemead City Council staff report dated Oct. 13, its staff recommends the city sign an agreement with Kith to serve as their next city manager. Rosemead’s previous city manager, Ben Kim, recently retired.
In the past, the City of San Fernando has struggled to fill personnel vacancies. With Kith’s upcoming departure, the city will now have three important positions to fill, including chief of the San Fernando Police Department – Anthony Miranda currently serves as interim chief – and director of the San Fernando Public Works Department.
As of press time, Kith had not yet given her formal resignation.
