An armed suspect is in custody after multiple calls of attempted break-ins and shootings last night in the City of San Fernando and Sylmar. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and San Fernando PD (SFPD) said they are working together to determine whether the events in both locations are related.

Around 8:50 p.m. SFPD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hewitt Street for a burglary investigation, acting Lt.Walter Dominguez told the San Fernando Valley Sun/el Sol. During the investigation, SFPD learned that there was an altercation between a group of people, leading to some gunshots being fired.

A couple of hours later, around midnight, after an attempted apartment break-in on the 1200 block of El Dorado Avenue, gunshots were reported at Hubbard Street and San Fernando Road in Sylmar, according to LAPD.

Two victims in a Dodge Charger claimed to be followed by a driver in a gold-colored Toyota Camry, who fired shots. Nobody sustained any injuries.
