CALABASAS (CNS) – A man suspected in the fatal stabbing of a Washington state woman remains at large today after his car was found in Calabasas.

Police in Longview, Washington, want to locate 51-year-old ex-con Alexander Lee Rogers in connection with the fatal stabbing last week of a woman and the wounding of a man.

Rogers’ unoccupied vehicle was discovered in Calabasas, leading investigators to believe he is still in the vicinity.

Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lost Hills Station said on Monday that deputies had located the vehicle in the 23000 block of Calabasas Road. Details about when the vehicle arrived at its location were not provided, but authorities said the suspect was believed to be armed and in the city of Calabasas.

Rogers, of Longview, Washington, is suspected in the murder of Dawn Peters, 64, and the attempted murder of Andrew Peters, 73, according to the Longview Police Department.

Both victims were also Longview residents.

Rogers was described as a 6-foot-2-inch-tall white man weighing 190 pounds. He was believed to be traveling in a partially spray-painted black BMW with Washington license plate BNU8712.

Police released officer body cam images of Rogers from an unrelated encounter at a Fred Meyer grocery store in Longview earlier in the morning of the Aug. 5 stabbings.

Police say don’t approach Rogers, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts was urged to call 911 or contact the Longview Police Department at 360-442-5800. Tipsters who choose to remain anonymous can text “tips” to 360-431-6397.
