Adan Ortega, who represents the city of San Fernando on the Metropolitan Water District board, was elected as its chairman on Tuesday, Oct. 11. His election is historic as he is the first Latino and first representative for the city of San Fernando to hold this position. On hand to witness the vote were City Council members Sylvia Ballin, Mayor Mary Mendoza and Cindy Montanez. Ortega will be sworn in on Jan. 10, 2023.
